2023 Continued Expansion

Girteka introduced battery-electric trucks into its fleet, received SQAS attestation, and continued to strengthen its operations and vision of Responsible Logistics. The year marked the opening of a new administrative office in Kaunas, Lithuania, as well as driver recruitment offices in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

2022 New Positioning

Following a visual rebranding, Girteka introduced its new positioning - Responsible Logistics, highlighting the company’s commitment to responsible practices.

2021 Ambitious Goals

In 2021, Girteka celebrated its 25th anniversary, setting the ambitious goal to become one of the top 10 logistics companies in Europe.

2020 New Partnerships

Girteka announced a partnership with the enterprise software provider SAP, aiming to automate and streamline processes throughout the organization. This same year, the company also joined the European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA).

2019 Strengthening Infrastructure

In 2019, the company purchased its first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) truck and opened a new transport base near Poznan, Poland. Today this transport base services more than 4,000 trucks monthly.

2018 Driving Innovation

Girteka digitalized its operations with the Transics Fleet Management System (FMS) software installed on all the company’s trucks. This same year, Girteka was also nominated as one of the top 100 innovative European companies.

2017 New Opportunities

Girteka has started a new service in the market – a dedicated fleet solutions, today known as TNDM Trucking. Also we have reached 320,000 FTLs annually and began intermodal rail freight operations. This same year, the company obtained the GDP (Good Distribution Practice) certificate, underscoring its commitment to pharmaceutical logistics.

2016 Memorable Anniversary

Girteka celebrated its 20th anniversary with a turnover of 500 million euros and a new, expanded transport base in Šiauliai, Lithuania. The company was transporting 270,000 FTLs annually, backed by 7,900 employees and a fleet of 2,900 trucks.

2015 Expanding Businesses and Standardization

In 2015 we acquired Thermo-Transit, a dedicated seafood logistics business in Scandinavia, to expand temperature-controlled logistics services. AS we continued development of our services we have from implemented LEAN methodologies, to receiving the TAPA TSR Level 1 certification, and joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

2014 Continuous Improvement

By 2014, Girteka employed 6,500 professionals, increased its storage space to 200,000 m² and passed the SQAS attestation for chemical transport and logistics.

2013 Expansion to Scandinavia

Girteka Group acquired the Norwegian company Thermomax, allowing to strengthen its presence in the Scandinavian logistics market.

2012 Rapid Growth

With an expanded fleet, by 2012, Girteka was already managing 130,000 FTLs annually with the help of 4,700 of its employees.

2010 Scaling Up

Girteka opened its first transport base in Šiauliai, Lithuania, further solidifying its presence in the logistics market. The company was already managing 50,000 Full Truck Loads (FTL) annually with a fleet of 600 fully owned trucks.

2006 Ten-Year Anniversary

Having grown to 1,000 employees and 400 trucks, in 2006, Girteka celebrated its 10th anniversary.

2004 First Milestone

Steadily growing over the years, in 2004, Girteka established its first logistics terminal, covering 1,700 m².

2000 Early Efforts

Girteka met the new millennium with 15 trucks in its fleet. This period marked the beginning of the company's scaling efforts.

1996 Humble Beginnings

Girteka began its journey nearly three decades ago with a single truck, one refrigerated trailer, three dedicated employees, and a small office in Vilnius, Lithuania. This modest start laid the foundations for what would become a well-known name in the industry.
